Seven Months In: Digi4Circular Consortium Unites in Viana do Castelo
Together for a circular future
From May 13 to 15, 2025, the Digi4Circular consortium gathered in the picturesque coastal city of Viana do Castelo, Portugal, for a pivotal project meeting. Seven months into the project, this event marked a key milestone in our shared mission to drive sustainable transformation in the automotive sector through digital innovation.

Diving into project updates and technical sessions
To begin with, the meeting brought together partners from across Europe to reflect on progress, align strategies, and accelerate the development of the Digi4Circular digital platform and the Digital Product Passport. These tools are central to our vision of enabling circular innovation and improving lifecycle transparency in the automotive industry.

Throughout the two days, the consortium engaged in focused sessions and collaborative discussions. We showcased progress across all work packages, highlighting early results and identifying synergies between partners.

Moreover, one of the highlights was the exploration of integration pathways with the Synera platform. This step is crucial for ensuring seamless data flow and fostering digital collaboration among stakeholders. In particular, a deep dive into the Product Development Process Diagram helped us map circularity across the product lifecycle, laying the groundwork for future integration. In addition, a dedicated dissemination workshop took place, where partners exchanged strategies and tools to boost the project’s visibility and impact across Europe.

Exploring the charm of Viana do Castelo
Beyond the technical sessions, the meeting in Viana do Castelo offered valuable moments of connection. A visit to the city’s historic cathedral provided a cultural touchpoint, while evening dinners created a relaxed atmosphere for informal exchanges. These experiences strengthened relationships and sparked new ideas. We’ve been reinforcing the importance of in-person collaboration.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Data CoLAB for their warm hospitality and excellent organisation. Their support made the meeting both productive and memorable.

Finally, we also thank all our partners, Paderborn University, EDAG Group, LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen, Università degli Studi di Firenze, SusDAT s.r.o., EIT Manufacturing, Fraunhofer LBF, CELSA GROUP, Ferimet, S.L., and AMIRES.
